Because I get in the way or I'm useless. I mean, it's true...I'm useless here. But that doesn't mean it's nice to hear.

Don't call yourself useless. If you were, the CDC never would have brought you here in the first place. You don't have to have supernatural powers, or be a soldier to be a useful person.

And if they called you useless, I'll make them useless.

I was bullied a lot when I was younger, and it sort of gave me a bit of a complex. It's not a nice feeling, and I don't like seeing others feel the same way. [ She remembers what Alessa felt like during school, all the shouts and the teasing and the brutality of the students and teachers. It's what made her stronger as Sharon, what made her stand up to others even though the things they said and did still bothered her. ]

Most people here are bigger, older and more experienced than me in every way. A bunch of them seem violent, too.

I don't believe they would. That would put them in danger of voiding their contract, I'm sure, and killing you for standing up for yourself would be cowardly.

But, you're right, you need to be careful around some of them. If people like that give you trouble, and you're afraid, give me their names, ok? I won't let them push you around.
